About the Internship
This is an unpaid, educational internship opportunity designed for a student interested in gaining hands-on experience in fashion, design, and the creative industry.
The intern will work directly alongside SLS the Brand founder and designer Sophia L. Scinto for approximately four hours each week at the Milford City Lifestyle studio. A Fashion Institute of Technology graduate, Sophia brings years of professional fashion industry experience, including working for top brands in Manhattan’s Garment District, along with firsthand experience building and operating her own independent fashion brand. Interns will have the unique opportunity to learn directly from the designer behind SLS while gaining insight into both the creative and business sides of the industry.
Because SLS is an active working brand, each week may look a little different depending on current collections, custom projects, events, and other creative projects. The goal is to provide a welcoming, hands-on learning environment where the intern can explore their interests, develop new skills, and gain real-world experience within an independent fashion brand.
What You’ll Learn + Assist With
Throughout the internship, projects may include:
Fashion Design + Production: Preparing patterns and materials, organizing fabrics and notions, assisting with beginner-level construction tasks, and supporting the process of bringing designs to life.
Jewelry + Handmade Products: Preparing materials and assisting with jewelry production, packaging, tagging, and product preparation.
Studio + Merchandising: Organizing inventory and samples, preparing displays, and assisting with visual merchandising and studio organization.
Marketing + Content: Assisting with behind-the-scenes content, promotional materials, flyers, photography, and creative marketing projects.
Events + Special Projects: Helping prepare for pop-ups, photoshoots, fashion shows, launches, and other SLS projects and events.
The intern will have the opportunity to experience different areas of the brand throughout the internship, with projects tailored to current needs, interests, and skill level.
